About Us
Catering By Design begins in the kitchen and extends to the ballroom. Our event coordinators, culinary team, and decor division make events happen with an aesthetic and approach that is unique to your vision. We have over 35 years of experience in full-service catering in Philadelphia and beyond.
Our team has a passion for the cooking techniques and authentic flavors of regional cuisine, prepared and presented with modern culinary sensibility and often a dash of whimsy. As members and supporters of sustainability and the Slow Food Movement, we utilize the bounty of food sources locally and across America, gently enhancing these ingredients with aromas and flavors from around the globe. Our thoughtful cuisine is enhanced by carefully crafted design of the plate, the food station and the event space. Our kitchen has been devoted to sustainability since our inception as is apparent in our partnership with Bennett Compost.
Our team accomplishes magic led by Executive Chef & Partner Roth Perelman, who brings a dynamic repertoire of multi-cultural cuisine with striking culinary design. Our kitchen is comprised of culinary experts from varying backgrounds and leaves no stone unturned when it comes to creative output. We also have an in-house bakery and dessert kitchen with Executive Pastry Chef Liz Yee ensuring we have an option to satisfy every sweet tooth. Our seasoned Event Specialists provide event planning expertise for beautiful weddings, distinctive galas, corporate events, and everything else in between.
Garnish is our in-house floral and décor studio, which works with a collection of fascinating objects and floral material to bring together unique and spectacular decorative statements. Like our menus, each décor element is customized to your specific vision. Whether you are in a sophisticated Center City venue or a rustic Bucks County barn, garnish will transform your space with found art elements and standout floral design. From bouquets to centerpieces, garnish will elevate your event.
