We had a wonderful time partnering with One North Broad’s virtual Gateway to the Holidays event! Each attendee received their bag ahead of time contact free! The contents had the ingredients for mocktails, cocktails, an appetizer and dessert. CBD staff then showed our guests how to prepare each item. ONE staff had a guided tour, bingo and more! We have been beyond humbled and honored to be a part of the Step Up to the Plate program since March. Our amazing staff joined the fight immediately and prepares thousands of hearty meals for our fellow Philadelphians each week. The teams from Broad Street Ministry, Prevention Point Philadelphia, and SEAMAAC, along with the City of Philadelphia, local caterers, and non-profits have served our most vulnerable during the COVID-19 crisis. Our original plan was 7 weeks but due to the overwhelming need we have now been extended to March, 2021. Step Up to the Plate collectively has provided over 375,000 meals to Philadelphians and this need is only getting more desperate as winter looms ahead.
