Catering By Design, a leader in the Philadelphia catering and events industry, is seeking a full‑time Assistant Event Planner to support our growing team. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, loves detail, and is passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences.
About the Role
As an Assistant Event Planner, you will help manage events from initial planning through execution and final billing. You’ll collaborate closely with our Catering Sales team, work with clients to shape their event vision, and ensure every detail is executed with precision. This position offers hands‑on experience with high‑profile events and a clear pathway for career growth.
What You’ll Do:
- Support Catering Sales by planning and executing events from proposal to completion.
- Oversee on‑site event operations and supervise event staff for select events each season (after training). Additional compensation is provided for supervisory shifts.
- Curate event menus by understanding our seasonal offerings and aligning them with client needs; awareness of current food and beverage trends is a plus.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full‑time position based on the event calendar; flexibility to work Monday–Sunday is required.
- Minimum 40 hours per week; during peak season, 60–70 hour weeks are common.
- Saturdays are typically the busiest event day.
