A Historic Main Line Mansion & Garden Venue

Fifteen miles from where America declared its independence, Bolingbroke Mansion predates that event by half a century. The Spring House bears the inscription “1727” and the house’s original fieldstone, some of it still intact, was brought from Colonial gristmills along Gulph Creek. In 1901, the property was purchased by Mr. and Mrs. Heckscher, who retained the noted Main Line architect, R. Brognard Okie, to renovate, remodel and enlarge the home to what it is today.

Bolingbroke was then bought by Mr. and Mrs. Roy J. McKee in 1949, and ten years later, St. Martin’s Episcopal Church acquired the property and grounds. For the past several decades, Bolingbroke has served as beautiful, quiet location for wedding ceremonies, receptions, parties, corporate meetings, bar mitzvahs and other events.

The back garden area features an attractive raised stairway and landing and is frequently used for wedding ceremonies and photo shoots. The rear lawn provides ample space for ceremonies and tented receptions, which can accommodate 150 for seated dinners and up to 220 people standing. Indoors, Bolingbroke can accommodate 100 guests.

The side covered porch is perfect for cocktail receptions and intimate dining set-ups. The area can also be enclosed to create a cozier space and add protection from the weather. Bolingbroke overall emanates a cozy feel, resonating with couple looking for an intimate wedding experience in the Pennsylvania sunshine.

Bolingbroke is conveniently located in Radnor right on the Main Line of Philadelphia. Nearby major highways for convenient travel, but also tucked back from the commotion. Bolingbroke hosts one event per day, has extensive on-site parking, and smaller rooms for cozy gatherings. Tables and white Samsonite ceremony chairs are included for events.
