The Academy of Vocal Arts hosted their 2022 Holiday Gala at The College of Physicians, with plenty of entertainment to boot. Acapella performers filled the grand space with their boisterous voices, and a grand piano took center stage in Mitchell Hall.
The night began with butlered hor d’oeuvres like our Roasted Red Pepper Goat Cheese Quiche and Beef Tenderloin Bites. As guests took their seats to enjoy the animated performances, our talented team prepared to serve the main course. Led by our Executive Chef, Roth Perelman, our kitchen team places each element of a dish like a jewel in its setting. We served Short Rib Bourguignon with whipped potatoes, carrots, pearl onions, and fava beans, and Pan Seared Sea Bass with tarragon vinaigrette, tomato ginger-garlic sauce, sautéed asparagus, and yellow oyster mushrooms. We also served a vegan (and gluten free!) option, Miso Millet Polenta with togarashi oil, asparagus, snap pea, shiitake mushroom, and scallion.
For dessert, our team prepared our Red Berry Layer Cake with lemon curd, berry-rhubarb compote, fresh berries, and hibiscus sugar, and Chocolate Passionfruit Cake with a milk chocolate hemisphere, chocolate pearls, vanilla ice cream, and passionfruit curd.
The night concluded with a group sing-along of a number of Holiday classics. It was an impressive medley delivered by students, donors, members and supporters of The Academy of Vocal Arts, and the perfect way to get in the holiday mood.
